Skills and Proficiencies
As a Business Data Science Major, I have gained the skills necessary to develop proficient data literacy in order to make data-driven decisions that will benefit any organization. I am confident in my abilities to find and use relevant data to make logical and advantageous decisions, and can also meet with clients to discuss strategies and options. My foundation in business has allowed me to possess a wide variety of competencies in areas like machine learning, management, marketing, accounting, and more.
Internship Experience
Study Abroad in London, UK : Spring 2022 Semester
I was a data science intern for StepEx at their main office in London from February to May 2022. My role at the organization varied depending on the task at hand. I performed many diverse tasks, from basic data entry to strategizing new database design and learning about and researching their upcoming predictive algorithms.
This internship has opened my eyes to the importance of communication in the workplace, as well as how crucial time management is. Innovation plays a large role in their core values, which allowed me to explore new ways to use code to find valuable data and compile helpful results in simple business language. I gained experience in analyzing findings and being able to translate those into data-driven decisions that would benefit the organization and their clients.
